Thermal power plant: It is a type of generating station in which heat energy produced from any fuel such as, coal, oil, or natural gas is converted to electricity. The main types are coal, gas-based, oil, and combined cycle power plants mainly. These are boilers turbines and generators whereby the boilers turn water into steam which in turn is used to power turbines to generate electricity. For large power stations, the main type of power plant is based on coal-fired thermoelectric Conversion while the use of gas-turbine and combined-cycle plants provide higher efficiencies and generally lower emissions. Base load power plants such as thermal power plants are typically utilized to ensure a steady and constant electric power supply over the required durations for industrial, commercial, and domestic uses.
