An automotive crankshaft sensor is an essential appliance employed in most contemporary vehicles for the purpose of detecting the position and the rate of turn of a crankshaft. These data is used by the engine control unit (ECU) to control fuel delivery as well as ignition time for the engine and general performance. There are primarily two types of crankshaft sensors: The first type is called the magnetic inductive type and the second one is the Hall effect type. Magnetic inductive sensors utilises a coil to monitor the fluctuations in the magnetic field due to the crankshaft’s rotation and Hall effect sensors on the other hand, produce electrical signals through the application of a magnetic field. Some of these characteristic are accuracy of the product, strength and ability to work well under conditions of high heat and pressure. It also applies to improving the efficiency and reliability of the engine through better performance and reduction of fuel consumption.
